Private.

For owners that are not interested in hiring their yacht out for charters, the St. Vincent registry offers registration for yachts 12 meters and up - although dispensations are possible for smaller vessels.

Here are some of the key features and benefits:

  • Renewal survey only every 5 years

  • No limits on the number of non-paying guests

  • Inexpensive and easy registration

  • Yachts are eligible for a US Cruising Permit

  • Realistic approach to requirements that take into account the layout and design of each yacht individually

  • Allowance of fire fighting and safety equipment from SOLAS signatory countries (i.e. non-SOLAS USCG certified equipment)

  • Provisional Certificates of Registry can be issued allowing the yacht to operate quickly and prior to the initial survey

Limited Charter Allowance (LCA).

The St. Vincent registry is one of only three yacht registries that allow Private Yachts to carry out limited charters for up to 84 days per year. In order to qualify for the program, the yacht will need to comply with chapters 6 - 10 of the Commercial Yacht Code and undergo initial and periodic surveys.

Here are some of the key features and benefits:

  • Private yachts of 18 meters and up are eligible, with dispensations possible for smaller vessels

  • When off charter the yacht is treated as a regular Private Yacht

  • Yachts under 24 meters are only required to undergo periodic surveys every 5 years

  • Eligible for a US Cruising Permit

  • Realistic approach to requirements that take into account the layout and design of each yacht individually

  • Allowance of fire fighting and safety equipment from SOLAS signatory countries (i.e. non-SOLAS USCG certified equipment)

  • Provisional Certificates of Registry can be issued allowing the yacht to operate as a private yacht quickly and prior to the initial survey

Commercial.

The St. Vincent registry allows non-classed yachts under 500 gross to be registered commercially. Centerline is authorized to issue not only the Commercial Yacht Document of Compliance, allowing the yacht to register commercially, but also to issue all of the necessary statutory certificates such as for MARPOL and Load Lines.

Here are some of the key features and benefits:

  • Private yachts of 18 meters and up are eligible, with dispensations possible for smaller vessels

  • Eligible for a US Cruising Permit

  • Realistic approach to requirements that take into account the layout and design of each yacht individually

  • Allowance of fire fighting and safety equipment from SOLAS signatory countries (i.e. non-SOLAS USCG certified equipment)

  • IMO White Listed

  • No requirement for crew to have St. Vincent specific discharge books

  • Provisional Certificates of Registry can be issued allowing the yacht to operate as a private yacht quickly and prior to the initial survey
